The archaeological site of Cuguttu is located in the Pietraia district in the northern area of Alghero, also known as Taulera. The territory features carbonate rocks dating back to the Middle Jurassic with calcite crystallization and various stratifications of hard-compact and friable workable rock. From a botanical point of view, there are fig trees, rib on limestone rock and brambles.
From the early twentieth century, several archaeological sections belonging to the Bonnanaro, Campaniforme and Ozieri cultures were found in the Domus de Janas of Cuguttu, today preserved at the MAN of Cagliari (National Archaeological Museum of Cagliari) and at the (MUSA Archaeological Museum of Alghero), including a vase with comb decorations and a drilled skull.
